Brussels: AFC-M23 Diaspora Engages in Dialogue with Corneille Nangaa on the Future of the DRC

Brussels, March 30, 2025  ,The Congolese diaspora, members of the Alliance Fleuve Congo (AFC) and the M23 movement, gathered this Sunday in Brussels for a discussion and exchange session on political and security issues in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

One of the key moments of the meeting was the live intervention of AFC Coordinator Corneille Nangaa. He addressed the concerns of diaspora members regarding the current situation in the east of the country, the political prospects of the movement, and the strategies envisioned for the future.

During his speech, Corneille Nangaa reaffirmed the AFC-M23’s commitment to sustainable political change in the DRC. He also called on the diaspora to play an active role in supporting the movement’s initiatives, emphasizing the importance of collective mobilization to amplify the voices of those seeking a new governance model.

The exchanges were dynamic and interactive, reflecting the growing interest of diaspora members in AFC-M23’s actions. Several participants expressed their willingness to contribute further to the movement’s projects, whether through awareness campaigns, strategic contributions, or direct political engagement.

This meeting is part of a broader effort to foster dialogue between movement leaders and Congolese communities worldwide. AFC-M23 aims to continue these exchanges to strengthen cohesion and mobilization ahead of upcoming political events.

In his closing remarks, Corneille Nangaa encouraged the diaspora to remain engaged and continue to uphold the values of AFC-M23. He reminded attendees that the DRC is at a critical juncture and that unity and determination will be essential to building a better future.

The Brussels meeting thus marked a crucial step in the ongoing dialogue between the diaspora and movement leaders, illustrating a shared commitment to actively contributing to the country’s political evolution.

Following the meeting, several action points were discussed, including organizing additional gatherings in various European cities, structuring the diaspora around clear objectives, and developing strategies to enhance the movement’s international influence.

AFC-M23 continues to rally its members around its political vision, hoping to see the emergence of a more stable, inclusive, and forward-looking DRC.
