The AFC/M23 Alliance has issued a serious warning to both the national and international community following the massive and provocative deployment of troops and military equipment by the Kinshasa regime along the entire front line in eastern Congo.

Even more concerning, this coalition, now joined by the Burundi National Defence Force has deliberately aimed heavy artillery at densely populated civilian areas. This reckless strategy is not only morally indefensible but borders on crimes against humanity.
These acts of open hostility are a direct insult to the ongoing peace efforts, undermining the dialogue process that the AFC/M23 Alliance continues to advocate for. Instead of choosing the path of diplomacy, Kinshasa has opted for militarization and intimidation.
While the AFC/M23 Alliance has already honoured its commitments and shown clear readiness to engage in a genuine peace process, Kinshasa refuses to uphold even basic confidence-building measures. This double standard is both unacceptable and revealing of the regime’s true intentions.
Despite the aggression, the AFC/M23 Alliance remains firmly committed to resolving the crisis through political dialogue. However, in the face of this escalating military threat and the deliberate endangerment of civilian lives the Alliance reserves its legitimate right to protect the population and defend its positions.
The AFC/M23 Alliance now urges the international community to recognize the destructive and destabilizing role played by Kinshasa, whose actions threaten not only regional stability but also the lives of millions of Congolese citizens.
