It has been reported that, over the past weekend, there was a significant increase in the number of troops and equipment sent to several areas, including Masisi, Nyabyondo, Kasopo and Nyabyondo, Kinyumba.

On Friday, seven Kamaz-type military trucks arrived in the Nyabyondo Center carrying soldiers, followed by four smaller trucks that arrived on Saturday.

Similar activities have also been observed in Walikale Province. According to local residents, troops and equipment from the coalition were delivered to the areas of Kashebere and Kibati, with heavy movement of soldiers and equipment reported in the Kalembe, Kalonge, Pinga axis.

The AFC/M23 coalition is said to have held a meeting with residents in Kalembe, during which they announced their plan to launch an attack on the city of Pinga and capture it.

This city is located in Walikale Territory, more than 150 kilometers northwest of Goma.

Credible reports also indicate that the coalition has been sending heavy weapons to the Mpeti area, which is suspected to be a key launch point for major battles expected in the coming days.

Currently, there are growing concerns that fighting may soon resume between AFC/M23 forces and the Congolese national army (FARDC), after about two months of fragile calm had returned to western North Kivu.
