Goma, April 2, 2025 Two months after the city’s liberation, the Political Coordinator of the AFC/M23 movement, Corneille Nangaa YobeLuo, conducted an urban exploration this Wednesday to assess the state of public sanitation, compliance with environmental standards, and the efficiency of the waste disposal system.
Determined to observe the situation firsthand, Corneille Nangaa walked through several streets of the city before reaching his office. This symbolic walk reflects a desire to stay close to the population and demonstrates that the AFC/M23 movement remains active and present on the ground.
The initial observations from this urban visit indicate a relative improvement in waste management, although efforts are still needed to ensure optimal cleanliness and strict adherence to environmental standards. Corneille Nangaa engaged with residents and some local officials on initiatives to be strengthened to maintain a healthier living environment.
This gesture, widely perceived as a sign of commitment from the political leader, aligns with the AFC/M23 movement’s intention to continuously monitor living conditions in Goma. This urban exploration suggests a willingness to revitalize local infrastructure and enhance public awareness regarding hygiene and sanitation.
The public is closely following these efforts, which reflect the progressive stabilization of Goma and the leaders’ concern for maintaining a cleaner environment for all.
