Goma, March 31, 2025, as part of his commitment to education, the governor of North Kivu province has provided significant support to public schools in Goma and Nyiragongo. On Monday, his education advisor, Chantal Murekatete, delivered a donation of three tons of chalk, an essential tool for ensuring the smooth running of classes in educational institutions.
This initiative is part of a strong commitment to strengthening the education sector and ensuring that every child can receive quality education. Ms. Murekatete emphasized that this aid will not be limited to easily accessible areas but will also reach regions under the control of the AFC-M23.
“Our goal is to ensure that no child is deprived of their right to education, regardless of their location. We are working for equitable access to educational resources,” said the advisor.
This action demonstrates the provincial government’s commitment to education and the well-being of students. By providing this type of material support, authorities aim to improve learning conditions and encourage school attendance, particularly in a context marked by security and logistical challenges.
The beneficiaries of this donation have welcomed this gesture, highlighting its positive impact on the smooth running of classes. This support comes at a crucial time, as several institutions were facing a shortage of essential teaching materials.
With this initiative, the provincial government reaffirms its determination to build a resilient and inclusive education system despite the challenges faced in the region.
