General Muhoozi shared his message on the social media platform X, stating: “After the capture of Goma, we extend our appreciation to the M23 movement for successfully taking control of the city. You are heroes.”

“You are our brothers; this is exactly what we had anticipated for a long time. You have done well. The time has come for Africa to take charge of its destiny.”

General Muhoozi also criticized the arbitrary borders drawn by Western powers, asserting that Africa must reconsider its geopolitical landscape. Additionally, he condemned those responsible for setting fire to Uganda’s embassy in Kinshasa, warning that they would be tracked down and brought to justice.

His remarks come in the wake of a government-led protest in Kinshasa on Tuesday, during which demonstrators condemned the capture of Goma. The M23 movement entered the city on Sunday, January 26, 2025, and secured full control by Monday after intense battles with DRC government forces.

During the protests, angry demonstrators vandalized the embassies of Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, and the United States. The DRC government accuses these countries of backing the M23 movement.
