North Kivu Nyiragongo, The Bukumu Chiefdom, located in the territory of Nyiragongo was officially represented during the recent consultations convened by former President Joseph Kabila Kabange. These high-level discussions aimed to gather the views of traditional authorities on key political and social issues affecting the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Among the prominent participants was Mwami Butsitsi Isaac Kahembe IV, the traditional ruler of the Kingdom of Bukumu. His attendance underscored the vital role that customary institutions continue to play in the country’s governance and community development.
